Since established in 2006, Founder and Chief Experience Officer Nijary Desai has produced incredible experiences from corporate events to weddings. The 1497 Sundance Event celebrated the 20th-anniversary of “Bend It Like Beckham,” which premiered at Sundance in 2003 marking a milestone for South Asian representation in film. The three day celebration was the first-ever South Asian Experience Lodge event hosted in Utah at The Shop, a Park City yoga studio, from Jan. 20 to Jan 22. KIS (cubed) also hosted a panel called “Black and Brown Unity and Division, On and Off Screen”, giving a voice to attendees.
With only a week’s notice, KIS (cubed) planned a successful, amazing South Asian Experience Event at the renown Sundance Film Festival. KIS (cubed) planned the event with everything from decor to entertainment to food while empowering South Asian professionals in film. The event celebrated the advancement of South Asian creatives by creating a modern mood utilizing a vibrant color palette, assortment of textures, lighting and greenery.
Objectives/Challenges
Kis (cubed) sought to highlight South Asian culture by staging and designing a space for the 1497 Sundance Event, which encompassed a warm and vibrant mood. The design sought to encompass South Asian culture in a modern sophisticated way.
